The Softest Night-Night of All

⏱ 8 min · 👶 from age 2

A bedtime story for children. Today, nothing special. Just one beautiful, gentle day, the kind that leaves no worries behind. Emma eats her cereal nice and slow, draws a picture all round, gives Mom a big hug and walks Mochi, her lovey, through the garden to look at the flowers. "Pretty sun." Not a single tear, not a single fall, not a single boo-boo, the whole day long. A gentle day makes you tired too, a lovely tiredness. After the bath, the pajamas and the lighthouse kiss, Emma falls asleep right away under the gentlest meadow-quilt of all. The Evening World wakes up, but tonight everything moves even slower than usual. The shelf hello happens in slow motion: Pantin is already half asleep, Ball gives just one tiny boing, and Nina whispers: what calm, tonight. Then Mochi looks for a worry to put away. He searches, he searches some more, and he finds nothing. The day was too gentle. So Nina decides: tonight, we won't put anything away, tonight we savor. Mochi opens his heart and says they will count the cuddles, like counting sheep. One by one, the golden yarn balls light up: a sorrow well comforted, the hug that smells like lavender, the hug of the stars in the dark, a little noise that became a friend, the hug that stayed warm all day, the one after a really good run, one tiny grown-up step, Dad's very old yarn ball from when he was little, the night Emma felt a little warm, and this very morning. This counting sheep story is a pure lullaby, with no worry to solve. It shows your child that the Cuddle Box is not only there to fix things: it is also there to be enjoyed, and falling asleep happy is a lovely thing too. As the season finale, it gently recalls every episode of the collection, and it can also be heard on its own. Without anyone asking anyone, everyone goes to sleep. Pantin closes his eyes with one tiny wooden sigh, and no story from back in his day tonight. Ball makes one last little boing, barely a breath. Nina says good night to everyone and folds her neck without a sound. Mochi climbs back into Emma's arms, and his heart slows down until complete silence. In the morning, Emma opens her eyes, all rested. "Slept well." No one resists sleep tonight, and no one needs to. After nine evenings of small worries put away, this one simply lets the calm arrive on its own: this way of letting a child feel that happiness can be quiet is the whole spirit of Tilibou bedtime stories. And all the while, Mochi's poc-poc fades softly, like a gentle goodnight whispered by a lovey who keeps all the cuddles inside. A screen-free lovey story for children from age 2, perfect to enjoy warm and cozy at bedtime, in the car, or before a nap. As always with Tilibou, the ending stays soft and quiet, without music, so your child can drift off to sleep without waking anyone up.
